Rise heart; thy Lord is risen.
Sing his praise
Without delays,
Sing his praise
Without delays,
Can there be any day but this,
Though many suns to shine endeavour?
We count three hundred, but we miss:
There is but one, and that one ever.
(George Herbert)
The one day - this is the day. There might be 365 days in the year (George Herbert seems to be rounding down), but there is one day of resurrection! Only one Easter day. Of all days, today is the day of days.
I sit with coffee before church contemplating the glorious gift of this day. We awaken to the greatest turn of events in all of our human history. The paradoxes weave into one another beautifully. Hope beyond all hope has been given to us. This is true freedom and love. May we glimpse this glory - praise be to the King of Kings, the redeemer of our world.
The tomb is empty and we are filled.
Death is overturned.
There is no need to fear, for He is near
He walked in new creation upon this earth
He breathes upon us His spirit
Never leaving us alone
Rise heart, thy Lord is risen!
He walked in new creation upon this earth
He breathes upon us His spirit
Never leaving us alone
Rise heart, thy Lord is risen!
