Today was a gray gray day
And I didn't wish it to go away
In contrast to our bright, hot sun
And I didn't wish it to go away
In contrast to our bright, hot sun
A relief from burning was a welcomed one
Soon the clouds let loose their hold
Releasing rain drops that had grown bold
Falling softly and landing with a splash
On my shoulder, my nose, even my eyelash
Little rain globes form puddles on the ground
And echo 'pitter' 'patter' as their sound
Otherwise in silence they fall fast
And keep one day gleefully overcast
