Designing Days

For in God's deep wisdom, He made it so that the world could not even begin to comprehend Him through its own style of wisdom.
- 1 Corinthians 1.21

If you could design some days, what would the days contain?
Would they be full of rest? Coffee? Reading? Good conversation?
My days would certainly contain those options.

We are coming upon a weekend and then a Monday holiday (Labor Day). How are you going to design your days? The decision rests in your hands.

Maybe one day we will all see the importance of paying attention to each other, to the extent that our lives and emotions can be known so fully. Like an epic story where the characters can sense when one is near, or in danger, they are brave to follow a trail into the darkness to help a friend. One day we will see that we are in that great epic story ourselves. It is going on right now, and we are the characters written on the pages. Our choices mean something good or bad. The impact we make means something. The beauty and grace of a moment can scarcely be repeated, but we can choose to treat each moment with love toward others, showing grace.

My heart dwells in a quiet realm of rest, after the storm of the days past. A sense of thankfulness emits all the energy I need to keep going, to not give up when it gets tough. My heart can always rest in God.
Today.
Rest.
Dwell.
Be.
Still.

Therein lies the richness of our days pondered.
