A Movable Feast

movable feast - n.  A religious feast day which, though always on the same day of the week, does not occur on the same calendar date each year.

Easter is the most important movable feast of the Christian Church, and most other movable feasts in the ecclesiastical calendar are dependent on its date. (OED)

It's almost time to celebrate the most important day in the Christian calendar. If Easter did not happen, everything would be different.

On this day before Easter, let us be reflective on the deepest love that we have in Christ. The love we do not deserve. The time we should spend in thankful prayer to our Lord should be immeasurable. He gave himself so that we may be eternally with him.

He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
- Isaiah 53.5-6
