We arrived in the mountains of North Carolina, traversing through the heat soaked lands. Such extreme heat, with temps reaching 111º. Yes, that's right. So hot that your shoes stick to the pavement. (That actually happened to Patience as we went grocery shopping before heading up the mountain)
But now we are up in the mountains, above 4100 feet, where the heat has been abnormal for the area. The air is dry, so it's not sticky like it gets in Florida.
We had an intense storm last night, complete with hours of rain, lightning, and hail. As we woke this morning the air was fresh and clear, and much cooler. Today was quite the opposite of what it was yesterday, and it's lovely. I hope each day will be like this.
